Fresh Ink
Want
to be the first one to read new and upcoming books BEFORE anyone else?
Introducing a new program at Porter Square Books called FRESH INK that
allows young people between the ages of 7-17 to read books BEFORE they
are published. How do we do this? Publishers send us early copies of
books months ahead of publication to help us decide which books we want
to carry on our shelves. These early books are called Advanced Reader
Copies (ARCs) and unfortunately for us, we just don't have time to read
everything. So we're asking for your help. Visit the Fresh Ink Tumblr to read all our reviews. (See the old Fresh Ink blog for all the past reviews.)
Here’s how the program works:
1. Print out, fill out, and return the PDF enrollment form below.
2. Pick any book of your choice from our pile of ARCs.
3. Read it.
4. Email us your review to: kidsread@portersquarebooks.com
5. Choose another ARC from the pile.
6. Repeat.
What to think about in writing your review:
What
did you like about the book? What didn’t you like? Would you recommend
it to your friends? Was it similar to any other books you’ve read
before? What’s the most important thing someone needs to know about the
book? Don’t worry about trying to answer every question here. These are
just jumping off points to get you started. Try to keep your review
under 100 words.
See the PDF enrollment form below for complete guidelines.
